Dam: Rastana Bint Estopa (Rastano x Bint Estopa)
Rastana Bint Estopa was born in 1986, bred by Om El Arab, born in the Santa Ynez Valley in California and moved to the Black Forest in Germany, with Heinz Rudiger Merz.
Rastana was a tall and strongly build mare with that typical Om El Arab look. Unfortunately she was never broke to ride and only used as a breeding mare.
She was a daughter of Bint Estopa (Golden Cross) by Rastano (Pure Spanish), which made her to be a Golden Cross mare. She was 17 when we discovered her in October 2002.
Granddam:
Sire: Ibn Estasha
Ibn Estasha has been an International Champion Stallion himself, known for siring International Champion get (AS Natsir-Apal owned by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid al Nuaimi of Ajman Stud, UAE) and grandget. He was the head-sire at Bessewacht Arabians; sadly passed away 17 March 2012. This is a tremendous loss for the Arabian horse world. Ibn Estasha is the son of Malik, pure Egyptian by Hadban Enzahi out of the famous Malikah by Ghazal. Malik is mostly know for being the sire of Asfour the head stallion at Simeon Stud in Australia and father of Simeon Sadik, vice World Champion. Ibn Estasha’s mother is the multi-champion mare Estasha; the full sister to the legend himself “El Shaklan”.
Grandsire: Malik
Malik sired such prolific show champions in Germany as Ibn Zareefa, Ibn Estasha, Zahda-Yama and of course the famous Simeon head sire, Asfour. "Malik was a full brother in blood to Madkour I".
Although in 1992 Malik was already old and not in good health anymore, there was something special about him."I remember the way he carried himself and the way his tail went up every time we brought him out of his stable," said Chen Kedar, manager of Ariela Arabians in Israel. He had such big eyes and even in his last days you could see that he was a true Arabian horse!". In Israel Malik left just a few outstanding get. "His best foal was Musaliha (x Nil Nour by Jamil) who in turn produced the international champions stallions Mosalli and Musalih." Malik is probably best known for the time he spent in Israel where he was a National Champion, however his reputation as a sire was made during his time at Om El Arab siring golden cross horses including the spectacular Ibn Estasha (whose dam Estasha was a full sister of *EL Shaklan). Malik was one of three exceptional full siblings and the most "dahman" looking of the three. The other two being Mahomed and Maymoonah, both being very seqlawi in looks.
